A High Court of siting at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and presided over by Justice Nwosu-Iheme has sentenced Peter Nwachukwu, husband of popular Gospel Singer , Osinachi to death by hanging after finding him culpable of her death.
The verdict was delivered on Monday April 28, 2025 in the trial which began following the death of the singer on April 8,2022.
The trial of Nwachukwu began on June 3, 2022, when the Office of Attorney-General of the Federation (OAGF), on behalf of the Federal Government, accused him of culpable homicide punishable with death, criminal intimidation, cruelty to children, criminal intimidation of children, spousal battery in the 23-count charge charge it instituted against him.
The prosecution case was reinforced by 17 witnesses including two children of the couple who took the stand.
The judge said the prosecution was able to prove its case against Nwachukwu who was unable to exonerate himself from the allegations leveled against him.
