FORWARD EVER AS ONE UNITED NIGERIA: RESOLUTIONS OF THE ANNUAL CONGRESS OF THE COALITION OF CONCERNED NIGERIAN STUDENTS
The Coalition of Concerned Nigerian Students, an association of patriotic Nigerian students from all tertiary institutions in Nigeria, having risen from it’s annual Congress held in Abuja, discussed burning national issues bordering on the state of the Nation and it’s continued corporate existence as a united country, being the future custodians of Nigeria.
The Concerned Nigerian Students resolved as follows:
That the indivisibility of Nigeria is non-negotiable, as the strength of a diversified nation fat outweigh the seductive messages of hate speech propagators. What is needed is the cooperation of all Nigerians for the diversification drive of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

That the President’s anticorruption war must not be derailed or trivialized by enemies of the state for cheap popularity and needless political points.

The president campaigned on 3 key planks of security, anticorruption and economic diversification, which represent areas that if fixed would propel the welfare and wellbeing of the ordinary Nigerian to stratospheric heights. It is to the President’s credit that he appointed key personnel to man the nations security and anticorruption agencies with the clear brief of bringing saboteurs to justice within the shortest possible time.

That the Police which touches on all aspects of the law enforcement architecture of any nation, got annexceptional officer in Ibrahim Idris Kpotum as Inspector General.

That IGP Ibrahim Idris has since assumption of office made unprecedented strides in combatting criminal elements of society that made life difficult for the average Nigerian going about his lawful daily activities.

The capture of notorious kidnapping kingpin, Evans and the crushing of the nefarious Badoo cultists that terrorized Lagos residents are undisputable cases in point of the IGP’s forthrightness in leading a modern Police force befitting of the giant of Africa

The IGPs innovative approach to administration has led to programmes such as the Eminent Persons Forum, that incorporated successfully the citizens of Nigeria into the security management loop with clear channels of communication opened that gave life to Community policing which has been a subject of publicity stunt in recent times. Many of our students who were harrassed by cultists and other criminal elements of society in the past are able to pursue their academic goals due to the more visible presence of police in and around our campuses.

That the current attempts to soil the name and reputation of the IGP, are rather worrisome in nature and dimension. We condemn these clandestine schemes that are targeted ultimately at the person of our selfless and we’ll loved president, Muhammadu Buhari, over the upcoming elections by the usual political actors that feel for the first time in the history of this country that their status and unhindered access to our collective patrimony is being threatened by a sincere government.
Another case in point was the letter purportedly emanating from the PSC on issues of demotion. Even though the Police Headquarters, Chairman PSC The

Distinguished Gentleman Chief Mike Okiro and the Lagos State government had come out to debunk the so called letter lacking in factual basis, detractors went to town trying to drag IGP Idris into the matter, by claiming he was directly responsible for the promotions even though the said letter never mentioned him as a person.

The laws permit anybody to aspire to the office of President or any other political office for that matter, however we will resist any attempt to pull down the edifice called Nigeria due to Nigerians rejecting their offers. We urge IGP Idris to carry on in his stated mission of relegating criminality in Nigeria to the status of unattractiveness by bringing criminals to justice and enlisting the cooperation of Nigerians. We urge Mr. President to continue to support and empower the police to protect lives and property in Nigeria, so that the work of development can continue in a rancour-free environment.

We call on those behind these unpatriotic schemes to set our country back to turn a new leaf and contribute actively towards building a Nigeria worthy of bequeathing to future generations, or face the full weight of the law and wrath of Nigerians. In voting for change during the 2015 elections, which had been predicted to break-up Nigeria, the suffering masses had rejected the status quo and the people will resist any attempt under whatever guise, to take us back to the past.
