Group Condemn Latest Blackmail On Inspector General of Police

The United Young Professionals has urged Nigerians to ignore the latest sponsored blackmail in an online platform; titled “Exposed: The Untold Story of IGP, His Plots To Frustrate Buhari’s Reelection”.
In a press release on Thursday in Abuja, the National Coordinator of United Young Professionals, Adewole Kehinde said that several blackmails has been put together by those who are feeling uncomfortable with the high rising achievements of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris especially his cordially working relationship with President Buhari.
“We wonder if truly the writer of the purported story; one Comfort Nnaji is truly an investigative Journalist or another fictitious blackmailer employed by the 247ureports to do the hatchet work of their pay master to destroy the excellent work of the IGP, Adewole said.
He further reiterated “We wonder if the so called Comfort Nnaji now works with the Inspector General of Police for her to know that the IGP ‘has engaged the services of marabouts where ACP Abba Kyari is said to have been allocated huge sums of money to travel to Yobe and Maiduguri to recruit marabouts for special prayers, while ACP Yusuf Kolo has bugged the mobile phone numbers of all senior officers in the Force Headquarters, Force CID and other Police Officers suspected of disloyalty?
The group further condemned the name callings such as Emirs such as Etsu Nupe, Emir of Kano, Emir of Lafia by the writer.
“We see the name calling as an attempt to put the IGP at loggerhead with the mentioned respected Emirs. The IGP doesn’t need the intervention of the Emirs for a fabricated news coming from the imagination of the writer, Adewole said.
“We challenge the writer to show evidences that the respected wife of the IGP, Princess Barrister Asmau, sent with some “Ghana Must Go” bags to the Emir of Daura or else we shall file a suit against Comfort Nnaji for defamation of character of Princess Barrister Asmau.
The group said there was no time the IGP sought the intervention of General Abdusalami Abubakar and some retired Generals presumed to be close to the President and a close relation of the President in the Villa to save his job.
“We wonder whether Comfort Nnaji is the one that recruited Senator Godswill Akpabio, the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, to assist the IGP to intervene with the probe by the Senate, Adewole said.
The group said more efforts are been put in place to cause disaffection between the Inspector General of Police and President Buhari.
“We called on the Inspector General of Police to remain focus and carry on his Change agenda to reform the Nigeria Police in line with the President Buhari’s anti-corruption agenda, the statement concluded.
