The Caretaker Chairman of Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Adeniyi Adeagbo, said his council area is on steady progress since his appointment by Governor Abiola Ajimobi but there is room for much more.

Adeagbo made this disclosure while addressing hundreds of the party faithfuls gathered in Township Hall – Baba-Ode for an expanded local general meeting earlier today. “I solemnly thank the party leadership and our teeming members for standing with us in order to make meaningful impacts in the lives of our people. Itesiwaju LGA under our watch has been witnessing rapid progress in all sectors of the economy – but there is much more to look forward to” says the council boss, while giving his address.

Hon. Adeagbo highlighted few of his achievements in recent weeks which include opening of a new farmers market in Komu, rehabilitation of Kusa road – Komu, rehabilitation of Adenlere road – Otu, clearing of both sides of rivers Otu and Ara to control flooding, upgrading of: Gaa road – Oke Amu, Sawmill road – Okaka, Atogun road – Komu and NURTW headquarters house – Otu. “We do not joke with the peace and security of our people; we are not relenting in giving maximum supports for all our constituted security outfits in a bid to ensure a crime-free Itesiwaju LGA.

“Another great achievement worthy of mentioning is that Gov. Abiola Ajimobi placed priority on agriculture; hence eleven farmers groups from Itesiwaju have been empowered under the FADAMA III Additional Financing inputs, which is the highest across the state. Kudos to our governor for the positive consideration of those we recommended for the benefits. Our people not only got grants from N121m but also set to be supported with improved rice seeds, herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers and production assets such as sprayers and wheel barrows. Meanwhile, we have recommended another ten experienced verifiable rice farmers to participate in Oyo State’s Rice Outgrowership Scheme”

Hon. Adeagbo in his further address commended Gov. Ajimobi for always putting first the welfare of the masses and the civil servants. “No other Nigerian governor other than Gov. Abiola Ajimobi has paid 5months owed salaries and allowances at once. The state government has disbursed over N13bn to all council areas and more than 70% of 33LGAs are already paying average of about 5 months salaries owed local government workers and primary school teachers in the state. The money released includes pensioners’ arrears in the state. In Itesiwaju, we have paid up to May and during next week, we shall settle June salaries. I must emphasise that the last federal allocations the states and LGAs received was June,” said adeagbo.

Adeagbo assured the APC members of his continued maximum supports for the party and pledge to build on his achievements thus far so that the council will deliver bloc votes for the party in the next elections.

“Itesiwaju LGA is moving forward, and our state is on the right track under the competent governorship of Sen. Abiola Ajimobi. The Nigeria Constitution states that all power is vested in and derived from the people. You are the sovereigns and we are the servants. We are accomplishing a great deal, and I look forward to the challenge of continuing to make a positive difference in this council area. God bless you, God bless Nigeria and God bless Itesiwaju LGA,” Adeagbo concluded.
