Thanksgiving: Bayelsa Government Reinforces Public Holiday

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. ‎The Bayelsa State Government has called on residents in the state to use tomorrow’s public holiday, as an opportunity to come out and join in the state’s annual thanksgiving.

The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, who made the call said, it is that time of the year again to collectively thank God for all his goodness, mercies and grace upon their lives and the state.

According to him, people should not have any excuses not to be part of the event, as‎ tomorrow’s public holiday, which is backed by law, gives everyone, especially civil servants the opportunity to thank God for His manifold blessings to the State.

He disclosed that, Governor Seriake Dickson will lead other‎ members of his cabinet and the restoration government to the thanksgiving, which will hold by 10’clock in the morning at the newly inaugurated Bayelsa State Ecumenical Center at Igbogene, in the State Capital.

Iworiso-Markson disclosed that, renowned minister of the Gospel, Rev. (Dr.) Uma Ukpai will be the guest preacher, alongside other Men of God, while American songwriter and gospel musician, Ron Kenoly will perform at the event.
