Ekiti Grassroots Movement, (EGM), on wednesday, called on well meaning PDP stakeholders in Southwest and National Working Committee of the party to suspend the former governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose from the party for what it described as anti-party activities and constant campaign against the party and its candidates.
Reacting to Fayose’s tweet, where he reiterated his commitment to a Southern candidate against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, the former publicity Secretary of the group, Mr Adebisi Adeola, noted that Fayose has been working for Tinubu, even before the primary election.
In his words: “This is not new in the history of Fayose. He campaigned against the party in Ekiti in 2010 and also did same against the only Senator Olujimi in 2019 without being cautioned and probably put usher for it.
“You will recall that Fayose, in his cunny attitude, has been showing sympathy for the All Progressive Congress’ candidate, Chief Bola Tinubu, right from when SWAGA was inaugurated in Ekiti. It will interest you that Tinubu sent a powerful delegation to Fayose where a sum of 500 million was given to him to weaken PDP in Ekiti.”
“Facts available to us also confirmed that a series of meetings have been going on between Fayose and some APC stalwarts just to make PDP a third fiddle in Ekiti.
“It sounds hilarious, that Fayose who was never a fan of zoning, is now crying on top of his voice to zone presidency to the South. The same man who never agreed to zoning in Ekiti, is now preaching same at the national level?
“What is Fayose preaching in prose, while acting in drama,” Adeola asked
Calling on Southwest leaders of the party and NWC to suspend Fayose, Adeola maintained that Fayose has done more harm to the party than to keep managing him further
