In a tragic incident in Edo state, an 84-year-old man, Gabriel Ahuwa, has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing his 75-year-old wife. The motive behind the alleged murder was the wife’s refusal to engage in intimate relations with him. The state police spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, revealed this distressing information while parading Ahuwa and 197 other suspects.
Ahuwa reportedly accused his late wife of engaging in relationships with pastors while denying him sexual intimacy whenever he sought it. The father of seven children confessed to committing the gruesome act using a cutlass out of anger.
Speaking to journalists during his police parade, Ahuwa stated, “So on Saturday last week in the afternoon, in the house, I picked up a cutlass and [cut] her all over her body. I did it in anger because she is not obeying me and I want people to know of it.”
The octogenarian further alleged that his wife’s behavior had deeply troubled him, as she would consistently decline his requests for intimacy, citing illness or other excuses. Despite seeking assistance from both his and her family, his wife persisted in her actions, leading him to believe that pastors were engaging in inappropriate relationships with her.
Ahuwa’s distress heightened as he disclosed, “Each time I demanded for sex, either she would tell me she is sick or she has an ulcer, yet I am hearing rumors that she is sleeping with other men and I don’t have money to carry prostitutes.”
The shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the community, shedding light on underlying tensions and personal struggles. The police investigation into this tragic case aims to uncover all the details surrounding the alleged murder and bring justice to the victim.
