Ekiti Grassroots Movement (EGM) has felicitated with the newly sworn-in ward executive officers of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, calling for inclusive administration and genuine repositioning of the party ahead other congresses and 2022 governorship election.
In a press release jointly signed by the State Coordinator, Mr. Adesuyi Alex and the Secretary of the group, Hon. Damilola Owoeye, the group applauded the conduct of the ward congress.
In their word,” The recent concluded ward congress that produced the new set of executives demanded effectual application of party extant rules to administer on oath of office, as the former executives tenure in office lapsed recently, an act which was consequently performed by requisite authority.
“On the above circumstances, the group identifies with party hierarchies who had done the needful during the congress”.
The group encouraged those who had been saddled with the responsibilities of leadership in their various wards to continuously working on potential delegates to ensure total victory for Otunba Bisi Kolawole in the coming state congress, adding that it is important to exhibit sportsmanship attributes.
“We encourage you all to be passionate about peace, unity and stability of our esteemed party, ensuring to restore and maintain positive growth trajectory and political success that the party is known for in the past.
“We believe collective efforts of all stakeholders would earn PDP the desired victory in the future electioneering activities”.
While appreciating the former governor, Mr. Peter Fayose for his quintessential leadership roles in making PDP a virile party in Ekiti, the group said the party needed a leader who understood the dynamics of politics.
“We appreciate our political and erudite scholar, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka for his indefatigable effort and sterling leadership.
“We implore all the new executive members to emulate and align with ideologies of these leaders whose visions and exemplary leadership have sustained our superior performances in the past years, EGM said.
