Any society that is not morally sound is bound to witness all sorts of social menace. Moral values are found in our religion, culture and traditions yet our youth, for one reason or the other are not that religious.
They consider our indigenous culture outdated and our traditions barbaric. Therefore they queue up to embrace westernization in its totality; abandoning our indigenous culture and tradition entirely, thereby losing their identity.
No man lives above his values, you are your values and your values are you. No wonder our society have completely become valueless, the elderly have gone so valueless that there is nothing to learn from them.
The marriage institution have become so messed up that the authentic truth and principles no longer hold water.
Children become wayward right under their parents, even the parents have lost all manner of values, leaving the children to be developed, formed and deployed by whatever they watch and see on television.
The worst are our youths who are meant to be our future leaders, have completely lost focus, they have been eaten and swallowed by the influence of negative values. The level of immortality within our system is unspeakable.
The entertainment industry that was meant to become a blessing to us as a people have become a huge disappointment to the future generation.
For example the moral damage done to our youths, families and children by the reality live television program called big brother Nigeria’
This negative values is selling more than the positive values, where are we going from here as people?
The level of insecurity in our system right now is to the point that people have no value for human lives anymore, politicians sabotaging the system and national interest just for personal gain.
Even our spiritual institutions are not left behind, every day one nonsense story or another. What a shame.
How do you build a nation, a home, a child, a youth, a marriage, a people without authentic values from principles of truth.
We must live by our values for everything to fall into place and until we make peace with who we are, we will never be content with what we have
