May Edochie, the estranged wife of popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has finally revealed how their love story began — and it wasn’t in the way many fans imagined.
Speaking during a recent lifestyle podcast, May disclosed that her first meeting with Yul took place at a General Certificate Examination (GCE) centre during her early university days.
According to her, she had just moved from Lagos to study at Enugu State University when she met Yul, who was then a student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
“Way back in school when I went to the East for my university, I’ve always been a bookworm. It’s always been about books for me. We didn’t meet at a party or any glamorous setting — we met at a GCE centre,” she revealed.
May described herself at that time as a focused and academically driven young woman who cared more about her studies than social events.
Her revelation adds a new twist to the public’s curiosity about her past with Yul, especially amid the ongoing controversies surrounding their separation and recent legal actions over alleged defamation and cyberbullying.
