2027: ADC Focused on Legacy of Service, Not Power — David Mark

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has declared that the party’s mission ahead of the 2027 general elections is to build a legacy of service rather than pursue power for its own sake.

Mark stated this on Tuesday during the inaugural meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja, emphasizing that the ADC was founded on the conviction that “Nigeria can and will work for everyone.”

According to the former Senate President, the ADC aims to build an institution “bigger than any personality, stronger than any moment, and different from any political party in the country’s history.”

“What makes the ADC different is simple. We are a party of purpose and determination — an institution that promotes democratic values, accountability, and responsibility across all levels of governance,” Mark said.

He noted that the ADC’s leadership model is anchored on four non-negotiable pillars that will shape the party’s culture and policy direction.

Mark described the ADC as a “Pan-African, people-oriented, problem-solving movement” that prioritizes the needs of the poor, youth, women, workers, entrepreneurs, and persons with disabilities.

He further stressed that unlike other parties driven by individual interests, the ADC will operate strictly on the principles of rule of law, policy-driven governance, and institutional supremacy.

“The supremacy we seek is that of our constitution and institutions — above personalities, improvisation, and idiosyncrasies,” he concluded.
