Senator Elisha Abbo, a member of the All Progressives Congress ,APC, has backed the call for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
As reported earlier opposition members of Senators are pushing for President Buhari to face impeachment, 10-months before the end of his second term in office, over the country’s spreading security problems. In fact, an ultimatum ha been given.
Nigerians go to the polls in February 2023 to elect a new president, and security and the state of economy will be the main issues.
The presidency in a statement backed the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, for not “entertaining the ridiculous motion to impeach our President”.
But Abbo, a well-known member of the APC, told Channels TV that he is in full support of the impeachment move against the President.
According to him, the Nigerian leader has failed in his fundamental responsibility to secure the lives and property of the people. Nigerians go to the polls in February 2023 to elect a new president, and security and the state of economy will be the main issues.
