Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has received a vote of confidence from the Party’s National Executive Council, which suggests that he will not be stepping down anytime soon.
It was reported that Ayu has been in the news for some weeks over a disagreement between him and the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike.
Speaking on Thursday during the NEC meeting, the chairman of the Board of Trustees, Sen. Walid Jibrin tendered his resignation letter, paving way for a former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara (from South-East) to become the new BoT Chairman.
In his speech, Minority Leader House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, who moved the motion for the vote of confidence, appealed to all aggrieved members of the party to forgive one another no matter what had transpired in the past.
