The Department of State Services, DSS, on Thursday night arrested Abdullahi Mashi, the father-in-law to an aide to a controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Ahmad Gumi, Tukur Mamu.
This is as the secret police continue to clamp down on associates of Mamu hours after invading his residence and office in Kaduna.
According to Daily Trust, DSS operatives also visited the residence of Mamu’s brother-in-law, Ibrahim Tinja.
Tinja was arrested alongside Mamu in Egypt and deported to Nigeria on Wednesday.
It was reported that Mamu and four members of his family were arrested at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Wednesday.
This is coming after the Nigerian intelligence agencies requested that they be deported from Egypt.
Mamu was arrested while travelling to Saudi Arabia for a lesser hajj together with his two wives, his eldest son, Faisal Mamu and brother-in-law, Tinja.
