The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has said that the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, is achievable.
It was reported that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and his supporters have demanded that Ayu must resign for peace to be restored to the party.
Ayu has however stated that he does not intend to leave his position as the party’s national chairman until his tenure is over.
Speaking on the crisis in the party during an interactive session with some leaders of PDP from the southwest zone in Ibadan on Wednesday, Atiku stated that Ayu’s resignation can only be possible if the party’s constitution is amended
