Afenifere, the prominent Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, has called upon President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to surround himself with capable and competent individuals who can collaborate with him to effect positive change in the country.
In their congratulatory message addressed to Tinubu, Afenifere urged him to appoint qualified individuals to key positions, emphasizing the importance of tackling the various challenges facing the nation.
Chief Reuben Fasoranti, the National Leader of Afenifere, conveyed their sentiments in a letter, expressing their delight and extending congratulations to Tinubu on his inauguration as the 16th President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Fasoranti acknowledged the long and challenging journey that led Tinubu to this momentous occasion and emphasized that the victory should be accompanied by a sense of responsibility. Afenifere firmly believed that Tinubu’s preparation for the role would leave no room for failure.
The letter highlighted the multitude of pressing issues currently confronting Nigeria, including heightened insecurity, a struggling economy, dilapidated infrastructure, youth unemployment, and widespread corruption. Fasoranti emphasized that after reviewing Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope 2023 – Action Plan for a Better Nigeria” publication and listening to his maiden broadcast, they were convinced that the outlined plans, if diligently implemented, could mitigate these challenges and lead Nigeria towards greatness.
In selecting his team, Afenifere urged Tinubu to appoint the best individuals Nigeria has to offer, emphasizing the importance of impeccable character, competence, and capacity. They encouraged him to assign these individuals to roles where their expertise would be of maximum benefit to the nation.
