In a media briefing on Friday, the Oyo State Police Command announced the declaration of Mukaila Lamidi, also known as Auxiliary, as a wanted individual. Lamidi was previously the Chairman of the Park Management System (PMS) in the state before being sacked.
This development comes in the aftermath of a recent raid on Auxiliary’s hotel, during which law enforcement authorities discovered additional dangerous weapons on Thursday. Earlier, police officers had conducted a search at Auxiliary’s residence in Ibadan, where they recovered weapons and ammunition. Although the operation led to the arrest of some of his associates, Auxiliary himself managed to evade capture.
The news of the raid and subsequent events caused palpable tension in certain areas of the state, particularly in major car parks and garages in Ibadan. Reports have emerged suggesting an unspecified number of casualties during the confrontation between the police and members of the PMS, although these reports have not been confirmed.
The situation remains dynamic, and law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing the apprehension of Mukaila Lamidi, also known as Auxiliary, as they continue their efforts to maintain peace and security in Oyo State.
