In a recent interview with Pooja Media, Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker and winner of the 2022/23 Serie A, shared that popular Nigerian rapper Olamide is his favorite artiste.
Osimhen expressed that listening to Olamide’s past hits before matches always inspires him and sets the tone for his performance on the field. He mentioned that during his spare time after lunch, he relaxes for a few hours and listens to Olamide’s inspirational rap, which motivates him. He even has Olamide’s playlist and considers him the best musician in Nigeria.
Before team meetings and heading to the stadium, Osimhen said he recites his prayers. During the bus ride, he listens to “Only The Strong Survive” by Nas and Damian Marley. These songs help him mentally prepare for the game, giving him a warrior-like mindset and a determination to win. Osimhen explained that he sees playing as going to war, symbolizing his strong desire for victory rather than any literal danger.
Osimhen’s outstanding performances contributed to Napoli’s first Serie A title win since 1990, and he was awarded the golden boot for scoring 26 goals in the Italian topflight.
