Tensions are mounting within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, has disavowed the list of principal officers announced by the leadership of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
During a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee and Progressives Governors’ Forum in Abuja, Adamu expressed his dissatisfaction, claiming that the National Assembly had violated protocol by announcing the principal officers without the party’s knowledge.
According to the party’s constitutional procedure, it is the responsibility of the APC to submit the names of the principal officers to the National Assembly leadership.
Senator Adamu alleged that this protocol had been breached, revealing a deep division within the ruling party in the early days of the Bola Tinubu-led administration.
