The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has refuted reports claiming that the Department of State Services (DSS) raided its offices to seize alleged incriminating documents related to President Bola Tinubu. In a statement issued by Daniel Okafor, the Director of Education and Advocacy Services, the CCB dismissed the claim as false.
The statement emphasized that the report published by Sahara Reporters on July 7, 2023, was unprofessional and aimed at misinforming and misleading the public. The CCB stated that neither the DSS nor any government agency conducted a raid or search for incriminating documents on President Tinubu and his associates at its headquarters in Abuja or any other offices across the country.
The CCB further asserted that there was no directive received from the Federal Government to cover up any matters regarding the President and his associates since the government assumed office on May 29, 2023. The agency urged the public to disregard the publication as fake news lacking any truth or evidence.
Reaffirming its commitment as a leading anti-corruption agency, the CCB assured the Nigerian people that it will continue to carry out its functions in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
