Bosun Tijani, the co-founder and CEO of Nigeria’s leading tech hub, Co-Creation Hub, has been featured in the second batch of President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list. The 46-year-old entrepreneur, who boasts an impressive background in the tech industry, was included in the list presented by Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, during a Senate session on Wednesday.
Bosun Tijani is renowned for his role in initiating Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s first-time visit to Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa in August 2016. Born on July 20, 1977, he holds a diploma in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Jos, completed between 1996 and 2002, respectively.
His pursuit of knowledge continued as he embarked on an MBA Course, Venture in Management, at Lagos Business School, Accenture, and Junior Achievement in 2003. He furthered his studies with a Master’s degree in Information Systems and Management at Warwick Business School in 2006/2007. In 2013, he participated in the Innovation for Economic Development executive program at the Harvard Kennedy School and recently attained a PhD in Innovation and Economic Development from the University of Leicester.
Throughout his career, Bosun Tijani has held various influential roles in the tech world. Notably, he worked as a Business Development Manager with DeliveryKing from September 2003 to mid-2004. He also served as the Deployment Lead (Africa) with Hewlett Packard’s Global Micro-enterprises Acceleration Programme (GMEAP) for about a year.
His work expanded across borders, managing the ODel learning center at the Africa Virtual University in Kenya and completing the deployment of HP, IEEE, and University of Ibadan telecenter in Nigeria. He successfully initiated and executed the deployment of the HP Micro-enterprise Acceleration Programme learning center at the Lagos Business School in Nigeria, extending support to similar deployments in Egypt and Morocco.
Between November 2005 and May 2007, Bosun Tijani served as the ICT Consultant for the International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/WTO), overseeing the design, implementation, and management of ICT for trade development projects in developing countries. His vast expertise in the tech field makes him a valuable addition to the ministerial list, and he looks forward to contributing his knowledge and experience to Nigeria’s growth and development.
