The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has hailed the attendance of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, at the wedding Fatiha of Amir, the son of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, as a testament to the unity of Nigeria.
Speaking after the wedding event held in Kano, Akpabio emphasized that the presence of numerous distinguished personalities, including Peter Obi, signifies the peaceful and harmonious nature of the Deputy Senate President. He remarked that this diverse gathering of individuals from different walks of life underscores the cohesive spirit of the nation.
Akpabio remarked, “The fact that even Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and his associates are in attendance speaks volumes. It is indicative that Nigeria will continue to stand united as one entity.”
The wedding Fatiha, a significant celebration, was graced by the presence of Vice President Kashim Shettima. The ceremony united Amir and Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki in matrimony, with Bilkisu being the daughter of Aliyu Sani Madaki, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
The solemn and joyous event took place at the Isyaka Rabiu Juma’at Mosque in Goron Dutse, Kano State.
