President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to 45 newly appointed ministers who will constitute the Federal Executive Council (FEC). The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Conference Center of the State House in Abuja on Monday, August 21.
During the ceremony, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of collaboration among the ministers and urged them to work together to fulfill the aspirations of the Nigerian people through their roles in government. He likened the task ahead to navigating a vehicle, stating that both he and the ministers are responsible for steering the country in the right direction.
President Tinubu further emphasized the collective nature of their roles, stating that the ministers are not just representing specific states, regions, or ethnic groups, but are ministers of the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria. He stressed the need for accountability and urged the ministers to meet the expectations of all Nigerians in their respective roles.
The swearing-in ceremony marked the official commencement of the 45 new ministers’ duties as part of the Federal Executive Council, the highest executive body in the Nigerian government.
