A tragic road accident in Minna, Niger State, claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl named Priscilla Galadima. The incident was confirmed by the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun.
According to Abiodun, the accident occurred around 10 am when a Mercedes Benz vehicle driven by Daniel Joshua was heading from Mandela road to Shiroro roundabout. Joshua allegedly drove recklessly and caused a collision with a Toyota Yaris vehicle driven by Abubakar Yahaya.
Following the collision, the Mercedes vehicle did not stop, prompting the Toyota vehicle to pursue it. In the process, the Mercedes vehicle hit Priscilla Galadima, a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road near Shiroro roundabout.
The impact of the collision caused Galadima to be thrown onto the opposite lane, where she was subsequently run over by an oncoming tanker trailer with registration number JMT 576 YR, driven by Ibrahim Lawal.
Tragically, Priscilla Galadima did not survive the accident. She was rushed to General Hospital Minna, where she was pronounced dead. The drivers involved in the incident were arrested and taken to Tudum Wada police division for further investigation.
