The Forum of Local Government Chairmen of the Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed enthusiasm over the recent appointment of Mr. Chiedu Ebie as the Board Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by President Bola Tinubu.
Mr. Chiedu Ebie, a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Delta State, was officially announced as the chairman of the NDDC’s Board on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
In a statement issued by the forum’s Chairman, Norbert A. Sochukwudinma (NAS), after their meeting, the Local Government Chairmen extended their gratitude to President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for selecting Chiedu Ebie as the head of the NDDC Board. They expressed their satisfaction with the choice, highlighting Mr. Ebie’s qualifications and political contributions.
The statement read in part, “We, the LGA Party Chairmen, on behalf of the party structure in the nine Local Government Areas of Delta North, heartily congratulate one of our very own and finest, Chiedu Ebie Esq. He is not only a technocrat but also a distinguished public servant who has previously served the Delta State Government as Commissioner for Education and Secretary to State Government (SSG). Additionally, he is a grassroots politician who worked tirelessly for the victory of our party in the 2023 general elections.”
The Chairmen expressed their deep appreciation to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for choosing Chiedu Ebie, a prominent figure from Delta North, as the Chairman of the NDDC. They voiced their confidence in Mr. Ebie’s competence and anticipated positive impacts resulting from his appointment on both the residents of the Niger Delta region and the nation as a whole.
The statement concluded with a prayer for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging divine guidance as he endeavors to establish a Government of National Unity and steer the Federal Republic of Nigeria towards progress and prosperity.
