Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced a N100 million bounty on Gift David Okpara Okpolowu, also known as “2-Baba,” and his gang members in connection with the brutal murder of Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Bako Angbashim.
The DPO was tragically killed during a police operation in the Odiemudie Community, Ahoada East local government area of the state on Friday night.
Governor Fubara personally signed the statement in which he declared Gift David Okpara Okpolowu and all members of his criminal gang as wanted suspects. The governor revealed that the prime suspect, known as “2-Baba,” is also involved in kidnapping and terrorism activities in various parts of the state.
In the same statement, Governor Fubara offered a bounty of one hundred million naira (N100,000,000.00) for anyone who provides valuable information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the murder suspect. This substantial reward demonstrates the state government’s commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Furthermore, the governor took decisive action by suspending Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi, the traditional ruler known as His Majesty Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi Eze Igbu Akoh II, indefinitely. This suspension is due to alleged complicity in allowing David Gift and his criminal gang to operate freely in the territory.
