President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State and the current FCT Minister, is not only the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory but also serves as his adviser. Tinubu made this declaration during a meeting with a 62-member delegation from Rivers State at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Addressing the delegation, President Tinubu expressed his awareness of their concerns regarding infrastructure development, particularly the deteriorating condition of the Eleme Junction-Onne axis of the East-West Road, which links to the Port Harcourt Refinery. He assured the stakeholders that their concerns were heard and recognized.
Tinubu also praised Minister Wike’s dedication and commitment, describing him as an admirer of his and someone who has hit the ground running in his ministerial role. He emphasized the need for encouragement and support for Wike’s efforts in the state.
Furthermore, the President encouraged the younger generation to exercise patience with the government’s processes. He assumed the role of the “Captain and Chief Salesman” of the country, emphasizing the importance of reversing negative trends and achieving positive outcomes in a short period. Tinubu pledged his commitment to working diligently and prayed for divine guidance to fulfill the high expectations of Nigerians, vowing not to disappoint them.
