In a tragic incident, suspected terrorists, referred to locally as bandits and armed herdsmen, have launched a deadly attack on Dogon Nama village in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 people and the abduction of around 32 villagers. Several others sustained injuries from gunshot wounds during the attack.
The horrifying incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on a Friday, with eyewitnesses recounting that the attackers, who were communicating in the Fulani language, invaded the village, firing gunshots indiscriminately. The attackers also set houses ablaze and engaged in sporadic shooting, causing residents to flee their homes in terror.
A local resident provided harrowing details of the attack, stating, “Fulani herdsmen invaded our community today, killing 15 people and abducting 32 others. This happened around 7 a.m. this morning, and they entered with motorcycles.”
Kaduna State has unfortunately witnessed periodic incidents of inter-communal violence and attacks, leading to a grim toll on the lives and well-being of its residents.
