In a recent development, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has issued a stern warning to bloggers and celebrities, urging them to refrain from interfering with the ongoing inquiry into the tragic death of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.
Adejobi conveyed this message through a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, emphasizing that these individuals should not exploit Mohbad’s demise to garner attention or mobilize followers. He further cautioned that individuals making comments regarding the singer’s death might be called upon by the police or other security agencies to provide testimony in the case.
The force spokesperson’s post read, “I have warned the so-called bloggers and celebs to allow us to do our work. They should not use Mohbad’s death to cruise or mobilize followers. They need to wait for the outcome of the investigation. Anyone who makes comments (affirmatively) on the issue might be invited by the police or any security agency to corroborate or testify in the case. You’d better be careful and allow the law to take its course. The law is wide and complex and could, at the same time, be flexible. Be warned.”
This announcement comes in the wake of an earlier report by The Punch on Friday, revealing that the late singer’s remains, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, have been placed in the mortuary. The autopsy on his body was completed after it was exhumed in the Ikorodu area of the state on Thursday.
Contrary to speculations that the remains had been reinterred, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, clarified during a telephone interview that the body has indeed been deposited at the mortuary, awaiting further investigation and legal proceedings.
