The Chicago State University (CSU) Registrar, Caleb Westberg, has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu applied to the institution as a male, and a letter of admission was issued to him as a male. The confirmation came during a court proceeding where Westberg provided information about Tinubu’s enrollment at CSU.
Westberg addressed the issue of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) contacting CSU to verify Tinubu’s attendance. He stated that his statement affirming Tinubu’s graduation from CSU was based on the transcripts in their possession. Westberg further mentioned that he has never met or seen Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that Tinubu did not visit their campus and does not donate money to the school.
Regarding the discrepancy in gender identification on records, Westberg suggested that the assumption of Bola being a female might have led to the marking of the Southwest Transcript as such. He also mentioned the possibility of mistakes in data entry.
In the court proceedings, Westberg provided insights into the university’s procedures, the handling of replacement diplomas, and the decision not to include his name on the ‘To whom it may concern’ letter due to the volume of requests.
This confirmation from the CSU Registrar is part of the ongoing legal proceedings related to documents provided by Atiku Abubakar, which include President Bola Tinubu’s academic records from the university.
