The Ijaw Youths Network (IYN) has issued a call for stakeholders in the Niger Delta region to support Tantita Security Services in its efforts to reduce crude oil theft, emphasizing the importance of a united front against oil thieves. The youth organization urged individuals who expressed interest in the pipeline protection contract to demonstrate sportsmanship by providing necessary support to Tantita.
Highlighting the competitive bidding process and adherence to legal procedures in the award and renewal of the pipeline protection contract, the IYN emphasized that sentiments should not overshadow the significance of the contract, given its central role in the nation’s economy. The organization noted Tantita’s previous success in engaging 17,500 youths in the Niger Delta during the first phase of the security contract, portraying the company as a key player in the fight against oil theft.
The IYN leadership expressed confidence that Tantita Security Services Limited would maintain its commitment to engaging the youth in the Niger Delta for the patriotic duty of combating oil thieves during the second phase of the contract. They called on Tantita to extend a hand of fellowship to all stakeholders, including those who opposed the company’s bid, fostering collaboration in the fight against oil theft.
The IYN urged Tantita to effectively justify the confidence placed in it by the President and the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) by contributing to increased crude oil production in the country. The organization emphasized the responsibility on Tantita to address the scourge of oil theft and encouraged the company to remain firm in pursuing its goals.
