In a startling revelation, the Police in Oyo State paraded a 45-year-old suspected ritualist, Hassan Kolawole, who was found in possession of a fresh human head in Ibadan, the state capital. The suspect was presented by the Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, alongside nine others arrested for various crimes in different locations within the state.
During an interaction with journalists, Kolawole confessed to the crime, admitting that he obtained the fresh human head and two hands from a Muslim cleric named Waheed. The suspect explained that he was driven by financial difficulties in taking care of his wife and two children.
According to Kolawole, “We discussed it and he told me that he knew how to do money rituals that would require the use of human parts. I told him that I don’t know how to get the human parts and he promised to get it for me. He later brought the human parts to me at Amuloko where we met early in the morning.”
The suspect claimed to have kept the human parts in his office, where he attended to people seeking spiritual assistance. However, when the police conducted a search on his office, the person who supplied him with the human parts, Waheed, was not found as he had absconded.
In addition to the suspected ritualist, nine other individuals were paraded for various crimes, including murder, kidnapping, cultism, and theft. The arrests reflect the police’s commitment to addressing criminal activities within the state.
