Six Nigerian individuals have been apprehended at São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil for attempting to board a flight to Ethiopia while carrying cocaine capsules in their stomachs. The arrest was made during routine checks at the airport when one of the suspects exhibited suspicious behavior. Upon inspection, the passenger confessed to ingesting small plastic bags containing the Type-A party drug.
All six individuals, confirmed to have swallowed the powdery narcotic, underwent medical examinations that revealed some had ingested between 100 to 150 capsules. The suspects were then taken to a medical facility to expel the drugs from their systems. Among the arrested individuals, three were destined for Kano State in Nigeria from Ethiopia.
Notably, three of the apprehended men had previously entered Brazil seeking asylum, and one had been arrested at Guarulhos International Airport in 2017 on an existing warrant.
