The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the release of singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Balogun Samson, known as Sam Larry, on Friday after the duo fulfilled their bail conditions.
The announcement was made by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin, in a brief statement.
Naira Marley and Sam Larry had been granted bail by a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 6, with a bail sum set at N20 million and three responsible sureties required.
The court specified that, as part of the bail conditions, both individuals were to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The arrest of Naira Marley and Sam Larry was part of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of singer Mohbad, as videos of assault against the late artist had surfaced online.
With the duo now released, the investigation is expected to proceed, and the legal process will continue as they adhere to the conditions set by the court.
