The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, disclosed on Friday that President Bola Tinubu had set specific targets for him and other ministers before assuming office. According to Wike, Tinubu required ministers to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) emphasizing the importance of delivering projects on an annual basis.
Speaking during a media parley with selected journalists in Abuja, Wike revealed that each minister had been given deliverables, and the President expected measurable results from their respective ministries. Wike highlighted the significance of achieving tangible outcomes within the given timeframe.
He stated, “We were all given targets, Mr President has set the targets and we have signed that memorandum of understanding, the deliverables for me, Mr President, will be one year in office on May 29.”
Wike further discussed the importance of infrastructure development and outlined ongoing efforts to ensure project completion within the stipulated time. He emphasized the need for accountability and efficient utilization of resources in delivering the promised infrastructure.
During the media parley, Wike mentioned the engagement with companies responsible for various projects, pressing them to expedite their work. He noted the importance of adhering to timelines and mentioned discussions with President Tinubu regarding a Supplementary budget to facilitate timely project completion.
