In response to a reported delay in the payment of stipends to N-Power beneficiaries, President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive for the immediate settlement of the outstanding nine months’ stipends across the country. The beneficiaries, under the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries, Batch ‘C’, had previously written to the President, seeking his intervention in the matter.
SaharaReporters initially highlighted the concerns of the N-Power beneficiaries, emphasizing their plea for urgent action regarding the unpaid stipends. The beneficiaries urged President Tinubu to summon the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, for questioning regarding the prolonged nonpayment.
In response to the beneficiaries’ grievances, Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Minister, announced that President Tinubu’s directive followed the completion of a meticulous verification exercise initiated and concluded by the Ministry.
Minister Betta Edu expressed her commitment to addressing the concerns, stating that the release of funds brought renewed hope for Nigerian youths during the Christmas and New Year festivities. She underscored President Tinubu’s dedication to supporting Nigerian youths through various policies and programs aimed at providing opportunities for their development.
The minister assured that the payment process had commenced, with funds being disbursed to the N-Power beneficiaries’ bank accounts. The directive aims to alleviate the financial challenges faced by the beneficiaries and restore confidence in the program.
