Amidst the storm of controversy surrounding actor Emeka Ike’s divorce and the serious allegations of emotional and physical abuse against his ex-wife, Nollywood veteran Regina Askia has called on Nigerians to empathize with the actor’s challenging situation.
Emeka Ike recently opened up about his prolonged battle with depression, marital struggles, and a decline in his career within the movie industry during a television interview. The actor shared the painful details of his divorce from his former wife, Suzanne Emma, with whom he spent 14 years of marriage.
Regina Askia, commenting on the incident and the subsequent public backlash, emphasized the need to consider Emeka Ike’s perspective. Despite not personally knowing his family, Askia drew attention to the difficulties one faces when transitioning to a different society and urged empathy for the actor’s plight.
“I am not supporting violence in any way, but you have to consider what that man is going through for real. It’s sad. I hope that they find a way to make it up to each other, maybe apologize father to son and pull through,” Askia stated.
Meanwhile, controversial actor Yul Edochie extended a warm welcome to Emeka Ike, expressing joy at his return to the Nigerian movie industry. Emeka Ike, a pioneer in Nollywood, has recently starred in Toyin Abraham’s ‘Malaika,’ which is currently gaining attention in cinemas.
“Good to have you back in the game big bro. The legendary Emeka Ike. Odogwu! You’re one of the actors who inspired me to come up. I’m a big fan of your work. We love you bro. Trust me, the people who love you are more than your haters. Ignore the noise. Don’t let nobody bring you down,” Yul Edochie wrote, extending support and encouragement to the veteran actor.
