In a startling revelation, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has divulged that he was approached with substantial offers to sabotage the emergence of President Bola Tinubu. Undeterred by the tempting offers, Wike staunchly stood his ground and actively worked towards the success of Tinubu’s presidential bid.
The revelation came to light during Wike’s visit to the South-South Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Victor Gaidom, in Gokana, Rivers State, this past Saturday. Emphasizing his unwavering commitment, Wike recounted his tenure as governor when Rivers State gained national attention.
“When I was governor, Nigeria heard about Rivers State. That is what I have always preached. So, nobody should be afraid. I have no regrets when I stood by with my colleagues and friends that the presidency must go to the south,” declared Wike.
Despite being lured with tempting incentives, Wike firmly declined the offers, a decision he affirms with pride. Expressing his support for the government of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Wike, as he concluded his visit, conveyed his satisfaction at the return of his friend to the political arena.
“This visit I came today will cause a lot of trouble. Some people will start visiting now. Follow who know road. Continue to support Victor and all your leaders who mean well for all of you,” Wike warned, hinting at potential repercussions of his revelation. The disclosure has added an intriguing layer to the political landscape, sparking speculation and discussions about the dynamics within the political corridors.
