Nigerian music sensation Tiwa Savage has reportedly filed a petition against fellow musician Davido over alleged threats of assault. In the petition, addressed to the Lagos Commissioner of Police and dated January 9, Tiwa Savage detailed her concerns about Davido’s behavior.
According to Tiwa Savage, the conflict began when she posted a picture with Sophia Momodu on her Instagram Story on December 23. This prompted Davido to send messages to her manager, advising her not to worry and refrain from speaking about him. Tiwa Savage claimed that Davido’s messages contained disrespectful and derogatory words.
The situation allegedly escalated with calls and messages from mutual connections, questioning her relationship with Sophia Momodu. Davido allegedly warned Tiwa Savage to be careful in Lagos, stating his intention to “f**k [her] up.”
In the petition, Tiwa Savage expressed distress over the alleged harassment, both online and offline. She emphasized the potential violation of her rights to life, privacy, and dignity, citing the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015.
Tiwa Savage concluded the petition by making the Nigerian Police Force aware of the situation and holding Davido responsible in case of any harm or untoward incident. She offered her availability to answer questions or provide additional information, attaching screenshot images of the alleged exchange between herself and Davido.
