In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has expressed his appreciation for the relentless efforts of Tantita Security Services Limited and other collaborating security agencies in combating oil theft. The commendation came during an inspection of the impounded MT. Kali by Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa, on behalf of the President, at Oporoza.
The Chief of Defence Staff, flanked by high-ranking officials from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and top military brass, applauded the collaborative efforts that led to the successful operation. Major General Christopher Musa promised to take stern action against oil thieves and their sponsors, emphasizing that the impounded vessel, MT. Kali, would be destroyed in accordance with standard practice to serve as a deterrent to potential offenders.
Musa urged the media to refrain from creating disaffection between the government and private security agencies, emphasizing the importance of their joint efforts in achieving better results. He highlighted the need for a united front in tackling the issue of oil theft, calling on all stakeholders to support and promote a seamless collaboration between government and private security entities.
