Senate President Godswill Akpabio asserted in Abuja on Friday that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly established its presence in the South South region. He expressed confidence in the party’s current performance and anticipated even better results in future elections.
Akpabio made these remarks while receiving the national executives of the party from the South-South, led by the National Vice Chairman, Victor Giadom, during a courtesy visit to him in Abuja.
Highlighting the party’s achievements in the South South during the last general elections, Akpabio noted, “We are steadily moving on, Cross Rivers State is 100% APC.” He emphasized that while the party may have individuals emerging in various positions, the governorship and government in Cross Rivers State are entirely APC.
Akpabio also highlighted the presence of the APC in Akwa Ibom, where the Senate President hails from, and its victories in the presidential election in Rivers State, demonstrating that the APC has become a formidable force in the entire South South region.
Discussing the upcoming elections in Edo State, Akpabio urged the party’s chairman to double his efforts, expressing confidence that the APC, through collaborative efforts, would strengthen its position in the South South and secure victories in the zone.
Akpabio stated, “Your visit is timely, and I believe strongly that working together with you, the APC can only be stronger in the South South region and, in fact, win the zone.” The remarks underscore the party’s determination to solidify its presence and influence in the South South region.
