Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has advanced reasons former Vice President Atiku Abubakar should not contest the 2023 presidential election.
According to Igbokwe, it is the turn of the south to produce the next President of Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should not be on the ballot.
It was reported that Igbokwe, who is the Special Adviser on Drainage and Water Resources to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu made his view known on Wednesday via a post on his Facebook page.
He claimed those pushing the Atiku candidacy are putting a sharp knife on things that have held Nigeria together since independence
