The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday met with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Abuja.
It was reported that Atiku offered to support Wike’s presidential ambition in 2027 if the Rivers governor supports him in the 2023 election.
This is coming days after the camp of Governor Wike pulled out of the presidential campaign of the PDP following the failure of Iyorchia Ayu to resign as the National Chairman of the party.
As of Wednesday, it appeared like PDP and Atiku were ready to move on with the 2023 race following the inauguration of the campaign council.
Sources close to the meeting claimed that Atiku during the meeting offered to support Wike’s presidential ambition in 2027, but Wike said he would consult his group and get back to Atiku.
