In a statement released on Tuesday, Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communications to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, claimed that the documents released by Chicago State University (CSU) expose President Bola Tinubu’s submitted certificate as fake. Shaibu asserted that the documents, including Tinubu’s academic records, demonstrate discrepancies that will be highlighted during a scheduled deposition.
The statement contends that the CSU documents reveal that the certificate submitted by Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was forged. Shaibu emphasized that the focus of the discovery petition was not solely on whether Tinubu attended CSU but on proving the alleged forgery of the submitted certificate.
Among the claims made by Shaibu are assertions that the transcript from Southwest College indicated Tinubu’s gender as female when he gained admission to CSU. Additionally, discrepancies in Tinubu’s declared date of birth and academic history were highlighted, with Shaibu suggesting inconsistencies in Tinubu’s educational background and admissions process.
Phrank Shaibu also referenced Festus Keyamo’s previous statements, pointing out the contradiction between Keyamo’s assertion that Tinubu was homeschooled and the documents suggesting an academic history.
The statement concludes by linking the recent developments to the earlier expose by Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) and criticizing individuals, including Festus Keyamo, for alleged hypocrisy in defending Tinubu despite previous legal actions.
