In a tragic incident, suspected bandits unleashed terror on Takanai Gora community in the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the loss of six lives and injuries to six others.
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Chairman of Zangon Kataf, Yabo Chris Ephraim, conveyed the grim news through an official statement. According to Ephraim, the unfortunate incident prompted the immediate burial of the six victims on Wednesday morning. The solemn ceremony took place in the presence of the local government chairman, Francis Sani.
The victims were identified as Sarah Adamu, Rejoice Adamu, Enoch Adamu, Juan Aminu, Salomi Aminu, and Meshak Aminu. Additionally, six individuals sustained injuries in the attack, namely Kubai Adamu, Judith Adamu, Abigail Adamu, Dennis Joseph, Grace Bitrus, and Adamu Ibrahim.
Expressing his condemnation of the attack, Chairman Francis Sani appealed to the Takanai Gora community for calm. He urged residents to refrain from engaging in any form of violence and instead work towards unity and peace in the aftermath of this tragic event.
In another unsettling incident, one person lost their life, and three others sustained injuries in an attack on Kwankwami village, Gadar Gayan, located in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Furthermore, the assailants kidnapped a resident known only as Mukailu.
The series of attacks underscore the ongoing security challenges faced by communities in Kaduna State, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts by authorities to address and curtail the menace of banditry in the region.
