Former Bayelsa United forward and Genk of Belgium star, Victory Beniangba has announced a cash award of Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000.00) and a pair of boots to the Bayelsa United player of the month.
Beniangba made the announcement in the Bayelsa United WhatsApp Group ahead of the new Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season slated to kick off on the 22nd of August, 2025.
The Jong Genk forward noted that the essence of the gesture was to motivate the players to give their all in the forthcoming season, maintaining that he is optimistic that the “Prosperity Boys” would perform beyond last season’s performance when the new season commences.
According to him, the selection of the Player of the Month would be done by players and coaches of the team, pointing out that training statistics would also be used to judge the winner of the player of the month award.
He explained that the winner would smile home with the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000.00) as well as a pair of boots till the end of 2025/2026 NPFL season.
His word: “I will be giving out fifty thousand naira and a pair of football boots every month for the player of the month award, the collation of the process would be decided by players and coaches of the club”, he stated.
“Training statistics and match statistics will be considered to decide the winner each month, good luck for the season and in God we keep trusting”, Beniangba added.
Bayelsa United will begin its 2025/2026 campaign of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL away to Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
