Prominent Biafra agitator and separatist, Simon Ekpa, has expressed his support for the military juntas in Niger Republic, Mali, and Burkina Faso. Ekpa, the Finland-based lawyer and leader of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, made this endorsement in a video shared on his verified Twitter account.
His declaration comes amidst escalating regional tensions within the West African bloc following the recent military takeovers in Niger Republic and the subsequent threats of military intervention by the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS).
In his video message, Ekpa extended his encouragement to the presidents of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger Republic, asserting that the quest for freedom in Africa, particularly in West Africa, should persist. He emphasized Biafra’s unwavering support for these nations’ pursuit of self-determination and freedom.
Ekpa’s statement took a resolute stance, declaring that if the Nigerian military were to lead a military intervention in the Niger Republic, Biafra would stand in solidarity with the juntas of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso. He underscored the collective commitment of over 70 million Biafrans to supporting any nations endeavoring to break free from what he termed “modern-day colonialism.”
The Biafra agitator’s endorsement of the military juntas and his pledge of solidarity reflect his fervent belief in the shared struggle for self-governance and independence in the West African region. His statement also underscores the complex dynamics and alliances shaping the geopolitical landscape within the continent.
