Popular Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, better known by his stage name Blaqbonez, has revealed that he would be comfortable in an open marriage, saying that sexual exclusivity should not define a relationship.
Speaking during a recent episode of the “In My Opinion” podcast, Blaqbonez argued that many married couples experience reduced intimacy over time because they are not open to exploring with others.
“I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples don’t keep having the same amount of sex they had at the beginning — it reduces,” he said.
The ‘Back in Uni’ crooner explained that he would not feel threatened if his wife became intimate with another person while he was unavailable, as long as her loyalty to him remained intact.
“If somebody satisfies her sexually while I’m hustling or touring, that’s fine. There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind her sleeping with someone else, provided she’s still dedicated to me,” he added.
Blaqbonez further explained that no outsider could easily replace the bond he would build with his wife.
“It will be hard for a random person to match what I’ve invested emotionally and mentally. They probably can’t make her laugh or connect with her the way I do,” he said.
The rapper also stated that if he eventually gets married, he would prefer separate rooms for himself and his wife, meeting only when they both desire intimacy.
“If I’m going to get married, I need two rooms. Me and my wife will only meet when we want to be intimate,” he noted.
