BREAKING: INEC Uploads Over 88% of Anambra Governorship Election Results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded more than 88 percent of the results from the Anambra State governorship election on its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

As of the latest check by Tribune Online, 88.18 percent of the results—representing 5,044 out of 5,720 polling units across the state—have been successfully uploaded.

Sixteen candidates from various political parties are contesting for the governorship, including the incumbent, Professor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who is seeking re-election.

Polling stations in the state’s 21 local government areas opened at approximately 8:30 a.m. and closed officially at 2:30 p.m.

Ahead of the election, INEC reported that 2,769,137 out of 2,802,790 registered voters, representing 98.8 percent, had collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan described this turnout as “a significant achievement” for voter preparedness in Nigeria.

The high rate of PVC collection and the swift upload of election results underscore INEC’s efforts to ensure transparency and efficiency in the electoral process.
