Canadian Man Found Dead in Lagos Hotel — Police Launch Investigation

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced a full investigation into the mysterious death of a Canadian national, identified simply as Sullivan, who was found lifeless in his hotel room in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Sources revealed that the incident occurred in the early hours of October 7, just five days after Sullivan checked into the hotel on October 2.

According to a hotel staff member who requested anonymity, several calls were made to Sullivan without response, prompting the management to send an attendant to his room.

“When we opened the door, he was lying unresponsive on the floor,” the source said.

The hotel’s Chief Security Officer immediately reported the discovery to the Victoria Island Police Division around 4:30 p.m.

Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after, documented evidence, and examined the room for possible signs of foul play.

A police source confirmed that no visible injuries were found on the deceased, suggesting that no violence or struggle occurred before his death.

The body was later moved to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where a medical officer officially pronounced him dead. His remains have since been deposited in the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

While preliminary findings indicate that no homicide is suspected, the Lagos State Police Command says a comprehensive investigation is ongoing to uncover the true cause of death.

Police authorities have assured that updates will be provided once the autopsy and toxicology reports are concluded.
